May the 4th be with you...!
We know, we know... Star Wars jargon on a FB site dedicated to ending poverty? Well, some revolutions are fought in a galaxy far, far away, and others are right here in communities in need.
Check out some of those communities here, which aren't quite so far, far away... http://www.fhcanada.org/communities

A different story about Sudan and South Sudan, via one powerful Twitter hashtag.

SUDAN & SOUTH SUDAN: Tweeting to give peace a chance
http://www.irinnews.org/Report/95385/SUDAN-SOUTH-SUDAN-All-we-are-tweeting-is-give-peace-a-chance
As Sudan and South Sudan sink deeper into full-scale conflict and hostile rhetoric nine months after the country split in two, people from both sides of the border are tweeting a very different message, one of peace, solidarity and frustration with their leaders.
Ever curious about the worldwide impact of FH (Food for the Hungry) and the Poverty Revolution? This video travels all over the world to give a pretty good picture. And if you're looking for a non-financial way to help the cause, please share this video! We'd love your help with finding new sponsors!

The votes are in! Yesterday we asked about the definition of "absolute poverty"... In fact both top choices are correct.
the World Bank defines it as: living off of less than $1.25 per day. Likewise, the UN defines it in broader terms as: the denial of choices and opportunities, a violation of human dignity.
How shocking to contemplate that 1.5 billion - over 20% of the world's population - are living in poverty.

We need these reminders often!!!

Anastasia 'Stacie' Beaumont How does one make less than 1.25 per day???? That is just fucking insane!
May 01, 2012 10:12 am
Rachelle G. By creating a demand for inexpensive products. Someone pays for what we aren't. It's the workers making the products that get paid 15cents an hour that are living off of less then 1.25 per day ... And not giving them better opportunities for better work and a better wage.

Mike Butt @ Anastasia it's easy to make that little, simply be born in a 3rd world country where your currency is worthless & UN sanctions drive up costs because you must buy from black market vendors. Or have a mental illness & not live in NA or UK. I could go on, but I think you get it.
